23 Years of Partnership Between W.A. Jones and Monroe Truck Equipment
W.A. Jones has been in business since 1880, starting off as a cattle and fur trading company that has grown and evolved into the truck equipment powerhouse it is today. In 2001, W.A. Jones joined forces with Monroe Truck Equipment as a distributor of Monroe’s complete line of municipal snow and ice equipment, and since then, that partnership has only grown stronger as the years have gone by. Today, W.A. Jones proudly holds the title of the oldest continuously operating business in Indiana’s Whitley County.
Schmidt Supra 4002/5002 Practice Day
At a recent practical day in St. Blasien, contractors and users were given exclusive insights into the technology and production of our Schmidt Supra 4002/5002 autonomous driving snow clearing machine. In addition to visiting the production line and driving and operating the machine on the test site, the snow clearing professionals also used the event to exchange ideas among themselves.
If You Need to Be Flexible, the Best Choice Is an Aebi VT 450 Vario
The hydroelectric power station Löntsch, located in the canton of Glarus (Switzerland), is a medium-sized high-pressure storage power station. The operator of the power plant is not only responsible for the plant itself but also for the maintenance of the surrounding area. A flexible vehicle that can be used all year round is therefore mandatory. But which factor significantly influenced the decision for an Aebi VT 450 Vario?
New Vehicles and a Special Mission - in Denmark, Iceland, Canada, Lithuania and Sweden
In the past weeks, the daily business continued in many cities, communities and also at airports, even under difficult conditions. Military Airports in France – More efficient. More innovative. More Sustainable.
A new era of winter maintenance is beginning for the French Air Force. At French military airports, it was common practice for a long time for the superseded engines from the old Mirage to be used for snow-clearance purposes. These engines from the fighter aircraft were fitted onto a special truck and this was the method used to blow the snow off the runways with a huge blast of hot air. Following an in-depth review of the old fleet, the representatives from the French Air Force decided that the winter maintenance equipment urgently needed to be upgraded to the latest technology.

Reduce to the Max – First CO2 Neutral Towed Jet Sweepers for Swedish Airports
Air traffic accounts for approximately 2% of global fossil carbon dioxide emissions. Together with emissions of nitrogen oxides, steam and effects of condensation trails, it is estimated that aviation is responsible for about 3.5% of humankind’s total impact on climate change. It’s not only planes flying from one destination to another but the infrastructure that goes with it, the ground handling, and the maintenance of the runways and taxiways of the airport such as snow removal. To make your airport operations smart and also green, ASH Group is looking for new technologies to reduce costs as well as emissions. “Reduce to the max” is the claim for the first CO2 neutral TJS-C (Towed Jet Sweeper – Compact) which was developed 2010 by ASH Group. Since October 2014, 29 of them are now in use at different airports in Sweden.

London Luton completes the puzzle
London Luton Airport (LLA) has added a self-propelled snow-cutter blower and a highly versatile implement carrier to its fleet. Being well prepared and ready for every eventuality, was the missing piece to the puzzle which is now completed to ensure effective and efficient summer and winter maintenance on the airport. Here’s more about the rationale.
If the day starts at 4:30 a.m., it can be a little bit more comfortable
From the top of the Col du Pillon pass, in the west of Switzerland at 1546 meters above sea level, it takes about 15 minutes by aerial tramway to reach the top station of the glacier ski area Glacier 3000. Four snow blowers and two trucks equipped with plows ensure that the unique glacier ski area is always accessible, even for early risers. On arrival, you are usually rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Matterhorn. To ensure that access to the aerial tramway is possible at all times, heavy equipment is also needed at this altitude - for example the new Supra 4002 from Jean-Luc Busset.

NEW SNOW BLOWER FROM SCHMIDT ENSURES CLEAR TRACKS ON THE MATTERHORN GOTTHARD RAILWAY The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway in Disentis in Switzerland was looking for a contemporary, powerful and above all safe snow-clearing vehicle to be deployed in tough winter conditions on the Oberalp Pass. After examining various options, a Bernina snow blower was acquired from the Rhaetian Railway at the end of 2014. However, this “old lady”, who was more than 50 years old, had to be thoroughly renovated and upgraded. This was a task for Schmidt’s railway experts at the St. Blasien site.

Beilhack Supplies Snow Blowers and Snow Ploughs for Croatian State Railway
With a rail network that is around 3000 km long, Croatia has a well-developed railway infrastructure which, among other places, also extends over the Dinaric Alps – one of the highest mountain ranges in Europe. To allow snow to be cleared from the rails more efficiently in the winter months, in 2016 the Croatian state railway operator HŽ PUTNIČKI PRIJEVOZ decided to add some powerful equipment to bolster its winter maintenance fleet. In collaboration with the Austrian track laying machine manufacturer Plasser & Theurer, Beilhack was commissioned to deliver two HB280 high-performance snow blowers, as well as two PB3 snow ploughs and BSP220 track clearing ploughs. In a short space of time, a team of engineers and fitters at Beilhack in St. Blasien managed to construct the attachments. They are each driven by an OBW100, a powerful track motor vehicle from Plasser & Theurer.
