Marco Wiget is the second generation to run his family’s agricultural machinery business in central Switzerland. Cultivating the steep slopes in the region between the cantonal capital of Schwyz and the pilgrimage town of Einsiedeln is demanding. Farmers depend on powerful, all-terrain slope tractors. Here, they have clear ideas about what a machine has to do on a slope and know which factors really count in everyday life.
Higher total weight for larger attachments
Asked about the most decisive improvement in the TT 211+, Marco Wiget does not hesitate for a second: "The permitted total weight of the machine has been increased from 3 to 3.5 tonnes. This makes it possible to use larger attachments and you are even safer on the road than before."
The optimisations to the chassis thus make it possible to increase the permissible total weight by over 16%. For the Terratrac 211+ in particular, the higher payload means a significant expansion of the range of applications.
Hydraulic system with stronger performance
The hydraulic pump now has a capacity of 40 l/min instead of the previous 30 l/min. "This gives the machine a power reserve to drive implements at lower rotational speeds," adds Marco Wiget. The ability to deliver higher oil volumes at lower speeds not only saves fuel and reduces noise, it also simplifies the use with attachments on steep terrain.
Reversible fan now fitted as standard
Summer operations in dry and dusty conditions are a challenge for the radiators of agricultural machinery. Cleaning and maintaining the radiators takes a lot of time. "The reversible fan is now fitted as standard in the TT 211+ and blows out the radiator every 15 minutes during operation. This saves farmers a lot of time. The cooler gets less dirty and needs less cleaning," Marco Wiget sums up.
The new intake grille for the air filter has the same effect. The air is freed from the coarsest dirt and grasses before it is sucked in. This significantly reduces the amount of dirt in the actual air filter and the maintenance required for it.
Better overview for more safety
The revised Terratrac is more powerful and safer compared to the previous model. Marco Wiget points out another significant improvement: "The new Mekra mirrors provide excellent rear visibility. A clear plus for work safety". Particularly when manoeuvring in the yard or during winter maintenance, the better overview brings a plus in safety for the driver and everyone around him.
Better visibility is also ensured by the new, standard equipment of the front driving lights and working lights with LED bulbs. "With the new lighting, drivers see better - and are seen better in traffic. This is important for the safety of drivers during operations in general, especially at night or during winter service."
Design
In addition to the numerous improvements in performance, ease of maintenance and safety, the exterior has not been forgotten. With its black patterned body design, the TT 211+ is recognisable as the latest model from afar. "The new design rounds off the improvements of the 'inner values' well on the outside, it has become fresher, more modern" says Marco Wiget.
The agricultural machinery dealer from central Switzerland is overall very satisfied with the update on the new Terratrac 211+.
